Wolves have ensured bragging rights in the West Midlands bragging rights, with a 1-0 win at Aston Villa.

A second half strike from Leander Dendoncker secured all three points for Wolves, as they push for Europe and Villa deeper into relegation danger.

Both sides only created half chances in the first 45 minutes, with a pair of headers from Kourtney Hause and Raul Jimenez not testing either keeper.

Wolves stepped on the gas after the break, with Nuno Santo bringing on man of the moment Adama Traore.

The Spaniard was the match winner against West Ham last weekend, and he was key once again.

His ball in behind found Jimenez in behind, and the Mexican put on a plate for Dendoncker to finish on 62 minutes.

Villa did look to rally in the closing stages, but as the clock ticked down, Dean Smith side simply couldn’t find a breakthrough.

Full time at Villa Park, it’s Aston Villa 0 Wolves 1
