Wolves have kept up their winning streak after the international break as a late flurry secured a 3-2 win away at rivals Aston Villa.

Bruno Lage’s Wolves side edge up into the top half overnight as his late substitutions made all the difference against Aston Villa.

However, despite the end result it was Villa who carried the early intent as Jose Sa kept out Danny Ings before Emi Martinez denied the rampaging Adama Traore.

And the frantic pace kept up after the restart as Ings checked his run to nod home John McGinn’s cross before the Scotsman cracked home a rocket to put Villa 2-0 in front.

That advantage looked to have Villa in cruise control late on but Wolves showed incredible resolve to fight back in the final 10.

Roman Saiss slipped his marker at the far post to drag them back into it and captain Conor Coady scrapped home Traore’s cross.

But despite seemingly impossible comeback from the Wolves late on there was one final twist in added time as Ruben Neves’ free kick deflected home for the win.

Full Time from Villa Park it’s Aston Villa 2-3 Wolves
