West Ham have secured a return to winning ways in the Premier League with a late late 1-0 win at home to Fulham.

David Moyes’ side bossed the match against the Cottagers, but they were forced to wait until the 91st minute for Tomas Soucek to finally break through

West Ham were on the front foot early on in this one as Fulham keeper Alphonse Areola produced a two brilliant stops from Arthur Masuaku and Jarrod Bowen.

With Fulham clinging on in the opening stages they had the woodwork to thank on 10 minutes as Sebastien Haller’s header beat Areola but thumped back off the bar.

After withstanding that early wave of pressure, Fulham did grow into the game before the break as Aleksandr Mitrovic headed wide.

But it was to be the hosts that retook control after the break as Areola launched an early contender for save of the season.

Aaron Creswell’s drive free kick flew over the wall but the Frenchman produced an outrageous stop to tip into onto the bar.

Scott Parker’s side once again began to tiptoe into the game in the final 20 as Ademola Lookman and Bobby Reid tested Lukasz Fabianksi.

However, just as the game looked to be creeping towards a disappointing goalless draw, Soucek popped up in the right place at the right time in the Fulham box.

Haller’s cross was only half cleared by Fulham and Said Benrahma poked a pass into the Czech international and he confidently stroked home into the bottom corner.

But continuing the theme of last gasp drama, Fulham were handed a 95th minute penalty.

Mitrovic stepped aside to let Lookman take responsibility from the spot, but his limp Panenka was casually saved by Fabianksi, with Parker left fuming on the touchline.

Full Time at the London Stadium it’s West Ham 1 Fulham 0
