West Ham have started 2022 with a bang on New Year’s Day as David Moyes’ side edged out a 3-2 win at Crystal Palace.

West Ham survived a second half onslaught in South London as Palace almost clinched a dramatic turnaround.

Both sides had chances in a frantic opening as Jeff Schlupp scuffed against the post and Vicente Guaita brilliantly stopped Michail Antonio.

But with the game beginning to see saw it the visitors who ruthlessly took control.

Antonio got across his man to prod home Said Benrahma’s fine cross before Manuel Lanzini bounced past a few tackles to bullet home a second.

However, the tie continue to swing as Odsonne Edouard hit the bar and Lanzini fired home from the spot.

But, Palace were not to be beaten after the restart, as Edouard steered them back into it late.

Substitute Michael Olise then curled home an added time free kick to set up a tight final few seconds, but Jean-Philippe Mateta missed a big chance to equalise.

Full Time from Selhurst Park it’s Crystal Palace 2 West Ham 3
