West Ham United are bracing themselves as it's believed Chelsea are set to relaunch their interest in Declan Rice in the January transfer window.
Blues boss Frank Lampard is reportedly a big fan of the defensive midfielder, who has been valued around £60m by the Hammers as they look to ward off interest in their star asset.
The England man could be a replacement for Jorginho, who has been linked with a return to Italian football for the last few months, with nothing materialising in the summer window.
Rice has been one of David Moyes’ best players so far this season, after the Irons navigated a hellish fixture run nicely, and sit in 14th in the Premier League table after games against the likes of Spurs, Wolves, Leicester and Liverpool.
They next go up against Fulham on Saturday night in a London derby, and midfielder Tomas Soucek has targeted the game as one they can win, having turned in an encouraging performance against Liverpool at Anfield.
The Czech midfielder praised the performance of his side over the tough run, and pointed to the Hammers creating more chances against the Cottagers, who are struggling at the bottom of the Premier League table.
