Claudio Ranieri has reminded the Premier League of exactly what he can do as his Watford side grabbed a shock 5-2 win at Everton.

Watford have parachuted Ranieri in to try and turn their fortunes around and these three points will inject some real confidence into his squad.

Both sides looked quick out of the blocks at Goodison as Tom Davies poked home Demarai Gray’s cross before Josh King bundled home Adam Massina’s set piece.

But with the tie evenly poised after the break, it looked as though Everton would power on, after Richarlison diving header put them back in front.

However, Ranieri warned in midweek his side will fight to the death this season and they showed real resolve to turn this one around.

Juraj Kucka wriggled away from his man to nod home Cucho Hernandez’s corner before King took centre stage late on.

The Norwegian failed to score during his time at Everton last season but he steered home Emmanuel Dennis’ cross to put the Hornets 3-2 in front.

That goal did look to force Everton into capitulation in the final minutes as King slipped away from Michael Keane to net a hat trick and Dennis dodged past Seamus Coleman for goal No.5.

Full Time from Goodison Park it’s Everton 2-5 Watford
