Newcastle United midfielder Matty Longstaff is a target for Italian side Udinese.

The 20-year-old burst on to the scene in October, marking his Premier League debut with a fabulous long range strike in a 1-0 win over Manchester United.

Longstaff is out of contract in the summer and will have been hoping to follow in the footsteps of older brother Sean in signing a new deal at his boyhood club.

However, contract negotiations have been aloof since the turn of the year, with the midfielder no closer to signing fresh terms.

Serie A club Udinese have now expressed interest in the player, reportedly offering Longstaff an opportunity worth considerably more than his current Newcastle deal.

Udinese are owned by the Pozzo family, who also own Premier League rivals Watford.
