Tottenham’s Top Four push has been hit by a 0-0 draw away at London rivals Brentford.
Tottenham failed to react to Arsenal’s win over Manchester United as they now trail the Gunners by two points at the end of the weekend, as they were held by Brentford.
Neither side created much, as the Bees dominated the opening 45 minutes, with Ivan Toney’s towering header tipped onto the bar by Hugo Lloris.
Both teams did give it a bit gusto the second 45 with Bryan Mbeumo lashing one over the top and Harry Kane hacked away Pontus Jansson’s knockdown.
However, despite a frustrating day for both sides, there was a chance apiece at either end in added time.
Toney’s brilliant header came back off the upright before Kane’s acrobatic volley bounced wide.
Full Time from the Brentford Community Stadium it’s Brentford 0 Tottenham 0
