Tottenham have boosted their growing hopes of securing a Champions League spot as they powered to a 4-1 win over Crystal Palace.

Two goals each for Gareth Bale and Harry Kane did the damage in North London as Jose Mourinho’s side move to within two points of the Top Four.

Spurs looked in top gear right from the off in this one as Kane’s pounced on a Palace error to slide Bale in for the opener.

However, with the hosts taking their foot off the gas before the break, Palace snatched their one opportunity to strike as Christian Benteke powered home Luka Milivojevic’s cross.

But Spurs refused to panic after the break as Mourinho kept faith in his star names as Bale headed them back in front.

And it was the class of the Tottenham attack that simply strode away from Palace late on as Kane curled home a magnificent third.

Palace did threaten to upset the party late on as Wilf Zaha struck a post, but Kane made it a dominant four as he nodded home Son’s flick
