Tottenham have kicked off 2022 in winning style this weekend as Antonio Conte’s side edged out 1-0 added time win at Watford.

Conte’s Tottenham side move up to fifth in the table overnight as Davinson Sanchez’s 95th goal minute secured a crucial three points for the visitors.

Spurs did have the better of an uninspiring first half, with Sergio Reguilon kept out by Daniel Bachmann, before Harry Kane wasted big chance to make the breakthrough.

However, the tie was more open after the restart, with Kane denied by Bachmann and Hugo Lloris superbly keeping out Josh King.

But Spurs did look to have a sting in their tail late on as Kane and Son both tested Bachmann.

And with Watford clinging on in a marathon set of added time as Sanchez wriggled free in the box to power home Son’s free kick.

Full Time from Vicarage Road it’s Watford 0 Tottenham 1
