Manchester United have move yet another step closer to a Top Four finish as the battled back to a 2-1 win over Brighton.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side left it late to claim the three points on Easter Sunday as Brighton’s survival chances continue to falter.
Despite the final result, Graham Potter’s side did force themselves into an early lead in this one as former United man Danny Welbeck forced home Neal Maupay’s cross.
But despite struggling to make their mark before the break Solskjaer’s charges were handed a perfect foothold on the hour.
Joel Veltman’s poor pass was seized on by Bruno Fernandes and he slid in Marcus Rashford to confidently curl past Robert Sanchez.
And that little slice of luck stayed with United late on as Welbeck was denied a penalty after being caught by Harry Maguire inside the box before Mason Greenwood nodded home Paul Pogba’s deflected cross to seal it.
Full Time from Old Trafford it’s Manchester United 2 Brighton 1
