New Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has picked up a third successive Premier League win as his side cruised to a 2-1 victory at Sheffield United.

That result lifts his side up to fifth in the table as Chris Wilder’s luckless Blades stayed rooted to the bottom.

It was the Blades that had the better of the opening exchanges in Yorkshire with Oli Burke lashing a great chance just wide.

But despite failing to test Aaron Ramsdale in the opening 45 minutes it was Tuchel’s side who edged ahead in added time.

Timo Werner’s run in behind wasn’t tracked by Chris Basham and he expertly pulled it back for Mason Mount to slam home.

But the Blades looked to keep up the fight after the break and they were handed a massive helping hand as Antonio Rudiger poked a comedy own goal past Edouard Mendy.

However, that reprieve was short lived for Wilder as Ramsdale’s clumsy challenge inside the box felled Werner, and Jorginho tapped home from the spot.

And despite Billy Sharp leading a late Blades onslaught there was nothing he could do to stop Tuchel’s honeymoon start continuing.

Full Time from Bramall Lane it’s Sheffield United 1 Chelsea 2
