Burnley’s James Tarkowski could be at the centre of a bidding war between Leicester City and Crystal Palace, according to reports.

The Mirror claim that the Clarets defender is high on Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers’ summer wishlist, with Crystal Palace gaffer Roy Hodgson also eyeing up a move.

Tarkowski has established himself as a key operator in Sean Dyche’s Burnley side in recent seasons, earning himself an England call-up for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Burnley won’t let the 27-year-old leave on the cheap however, with the player contracted at Turf Moor until 2022.

Tarkowski is entering the prime years of his career and valuable Premier League experience makes him an attractive proposition.

Leicester City are in with a strong chance of securing Champions League football next season – Burnley may find it difficult to keep hold of their man if European football is being offered elsewhere.
