Jack Grealish helps former team mate afford knee surgery

The Villa captain donated £2,000 to Lewis Kinsella’s GoFundMe page, after hearing that the Aldershot defender was raising money to pay back the club that paid for an operation on his Medial Collateral Ligament.

Kinsella was a team mate of Grealish before being released by the Villans, and was aiming to raise £10k to reimburse the club that covered his medical costs when he suffered the injury during a match against Ebbsfleet United.

Thanks to Grealish’s generosity and retweeting Kinsella’s appeal on his Twitter page, the 26-year-old has now raised £12,200 and smashed his original target.

He should be back playing within six months after rehabilitation.
