French defender not going to Wolverhampton Wanderers

The French U21 International has been linked with Wanderers this transfer window but is now set to complete a move to Spain rather than Molineux.

Ait-Nouri is represented by super agent Jorge Mendes, who like many other Wolves transfers would have been the man to broker the deal – but according to French sport outlet L’Equipe, the young defender won’t be coming to the Premier League.

The reasons given are that Wolves have other priorities in the transfer window in the remaining days, with the deadline at 5pm on October 5th.

Nuno Espirito Santo may consider some last-minute additions to his side, particularly following the chastising 0-4 defeat at West Ham United in the Premier League on Sunday.

Crystal Palace set to unveil Eze transfer from QPR

Speculation regarding Eze’s future at Loftus Road had ramped up in recent weeks, with Crystal Palace and West Ham United known Premier League admirers.

And it looks like Roy Hodgson has won the race for the 22-year-old’s signature, with Eze set to be unveiled at Selhurst Park in the coming days in a £19.5m deal say the Evening Standard.

The impressive forward was a key component for QPR last campaign, starting all 46 of Rangers’ Championship fixtures, and scoring 14 times.

Eze becomes the second youngster to make the switch to Palace this season, with 19-year-old full back Nathan Ferguson arriving from West Bromwich Albion earlier on in the transfer window.

Joe Hart joins on a free

Spurs have signed Goalkeeper Joe Hart on a two-year deal with Spurs after his contract expired with Burnley at the end of June.

Tottenham announced Hart’s signing on Tuesday and he will compete with Paulo Gazzaniga to be Hugo Lloris’ deputy at the north London club.

The last few years have been difficult after Hart fell out of favour at Manchester City, but he certainly has a quality record.

He has won every domestic trophy, has 75 England caps and shares the record for most golden glove awards, with over 100 premier league clean sheets.

As Hart arrives, Luke Amos has left to join Queens Park Rangers for an undisclosed fee. Having been on loan there last season, the midfielder has signed a three-year contract.

Clarets close to securing battling midfielder

Burnley are closing in on the signature of Angers midfielder Baptiste Santamaria.

The Daily Mail reports that the Clarets have held talks with the Ligue 1 side Angers over a move for 25 year old Santamaria, for around £12 million.

As a player, he has been compared to Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante, and like the Frenchman, Santamaria stands out for his knack of breaking up opposition attacks and has a good ball-winning record playing in a midfield anchor position.

He’s also quite handy on the ball with an average pass completion rate of over 80%.

Aston Villa, Everton, and Leicester are all in the mix for his signature, but Turf Moor seems his most likely destination at the moment.

Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze bid rejected by QPR

Eze has impressed for QPR in the Championship this season, with Palace amongst a host of clubs expressing an interest in the forward.

The 22-year-old bagged 14 goals in English football’s second tier last term, but the Eagles’ alleged £12m offer for Eze was rebuffed by QPR on Monday.

The West London side are said to be wanting closer to £20m for the player, although it’s understood £16m may be enough to secure Eze’s services.

Roy Hodgson faces competition from fellow Premier League sides West Ham and West Brom in the race for the England U21 international, who may be considered a replacement for Wilfried Zaha should the Ivorian leave Selhurst Park this summer.

Crystal Palace tracking QPR forward Eberechi Eze

The Eagles ended their 2019-20 Premier League campaign in 14th place, with a 1-1 draw with Tottenham at Selhurst Park ending a wretched run of 7 consecutive league defeats.

Roy Hodgson’s side scored the second-fewest goals in the Premier League this season, with only Norwich City – relegated in bottom place – having a worse strike rate.

There is a need therefore for Hodgson to freshen up his attack, as a lack of goals combined with an ageing squad is a cause for concern amongst Crystal Palace supporters.

Palace’s reported interest in 22-year-old Eberechi Eze from QPR will no doubt perk up some of those dubious Eagles fans, with the forward having bagged 14 goals in all competitions for the West London outfit this season.

West Ham United are also said to be keen on the England U21 international, but it’s understood Crystal Palace are in pole position over a possible switch.
