Mikel Areta’s team have won just once in Premier League action since October and goals from Pedro Neto and Daniel Podence condemned them to another home defeat.
Both teams struggled for fluidity in the opening stages as Neto converted the first genuine chance on the night.
Leander Dendoncker powered Adama Traore’s cross against the Gunners crossbar and Neto reacted quickest to the rebound to slot home the opener.
But despite the setback, Arsenal did react quickly as Gabriel emphatically nodded home Willian’s corner.
However, the game seesawed back into Wolves’ favour as Podence edged them back in front before the break.
Again it was the Arsenal defence that shot themselves in the foot as Bernd Leno could only parry Neto’s drive and the sharp Podence pounced on the rebound.
Arsenal did look to haul themselves back into after the break, but their sporadic threat only yielded a wasted effort from Reiss Nelson as Nuno Santo’s Wolves stayed on course for all three points.
