Burnley cruise past Fulham with 3-0 FA Cup win

The Clarets have traditionally not done brilliantly in cup competitions in recent years but crucial goals from Jay Rodriguez and Kevin Long means they right in the mix in the last 16.

The visitors did look the brighter of the two sides early on in freezing conditions in West London with Matej Vydra and Phil Bardsley both testing Marek Rodak.

However, Burnley didn’t have to wait too much longer to edge out a breakthrough as Rodriguez headed home Jack Cork’s cross.

But despite finding themselves trailing after the restart, Fulham were no mood to roll over in this one as Bailey Peacock-Farrell produced a fine double stop Aleksandar Mitrovic.

And that little blip handed Burnley the perfect chance to go on and clinch their Fifth Round spot.

Rodriguez confidently made it 2-0 from the penalty spot with 20 to go before his clever knock down was
fired home by Long.

Fulham edge out extra time FA Cup win at QPR

The Cottagers struggled to create much inside the first 90 minutes but extra time strikes from Bobby Reid and Neeskens Kebano proved the difference on the night.

Rangers were the better side in the opening stages as Illias Chair and Bright Samuel both tested Marek Rodak before the break.

The expected Fulham response never really got going in the second period with Joe Bryan’s snapshot the only real test for Seny Dieng.

But the Cottagers looked refreshed in the extra 30 minutes as Scott Parker’s charges showed their top-flight edge.

Reid proved the key in the door for Parker as he lashed home the breakthrough goal from outside the box before Kebano tucked home Josh Onomah’s pass to seal it.

Arsenal cruise to 3-0 win at Premier League new boys Fulham

The hosts showed flashes of promise, but goals from Alexandre Lacazette, Gabriel Magalaes and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang secured all three points for the Gunners.

Both sides had their fans wincing in the opening stages with dodgy defending, but it was Arsenal that broke the deadlock on eight minutes.

Pinball inside the Fulham box caused panic for the home side, but Lacazette kept his cool to scramble home the scruffiest of opening goals.

That defensive horror show looked to rattle Fulham, and they were fortunate not to be two goals behind at the break, as Brazilian international Willian rattled the post from a free kick.

And with the shell shocked hosts unable to react, Gabriel helped himself to a debut goal just after the restart.

That ended any slim chance of a possible Fulham fight back, but their top-flight return would not be complete without an goal from Aubameyang.

Willian found himself in space on the hour mark, his through ball left the Fulham defence standing and Aubameyang raced on and on to fire past Marek Rodak.

Parker threw on Aleksandar Mitrovic in the closing stages, and despite the Serbian testing Bernd Leno late on, Parker knows his side will need to improve dramatically for the long road ahead.
