Leeds United close in on Bayern Munich midfielder

The French midfielder joined Bayern from Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach just over a year ago, but has been told he can leave the Allianz Arena after struggling for game time at the club.

The 21-year-old was an unused substitute when Bayern beat PSG in the Champions League in August, and Leeds are negotiating a price with the multiple time German champions after agreeing personal terms with Cuisance earlier in the window.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Leeds are offering €20m for the central midfielder, but Bayern were holding out for closer to €30m.

Cuisance was one of the most highly rated players in Germany when he left Monchengladbach, but made just five league appearances last season as the likes of Javi Martinez, Joshua Kimmich, Thiago and Corentin Tolisso were picked ahead of him.

Elland Road could be the perfect place for the left-footed playmaker to get his career back on track and provide another boost to a Leeds side that have made an impressive start to their first Premier League season in 16 years.

Liverpool inch closer to Thiago Alcantara transfer

The PA news agency understands the Premier League champions have now begun discussions with the Champions League winners after being heavily linked with the Spain playmaker throughout the summer.

It is understood the Reds would pay an initial fee of £20million for the midfielder, who has one year remaining on his contract at Bayern, with more to follow in add-ons.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp had previously tried to play down the speculation.

“It is nice that we are linked with him but that is pretty much all, really,” The German said last week.

That came amid claims a potential move for the 29-year-old was being held up by uncertainty over the future of Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.

The Dutchman, who is in the final year of his contract at Anfield, has been linked with Barcelona.

Liverpool, however, have decided to make their move for Thiago now, with the issue not appearing dependent on whether Wijnaldum leaves the club or not.

Thiago would be Liverpool’s second addition of the summer after the signing of Greece left-back Kostas Tsimikas.

Thiago joined Bayern from Barca in 2013 and was in the side that won the Champions League last month.

Sheffield United eyeing Bayern Munich striker

That’s according to the Guardian newspaper, who write that Blades boss Chris Wilder is keen to land the highly-rated 19-year-old to bolster his attacking options.

Not much is known about Dajaku as he is yet to establish himself in the Bayern first team – he has however played age group level for Germany and netted more than 40 times at youth level.

Understandably it will be difficult for the striker to break in to the squad of the recently-crowned European champions, who already have the formidable Robert Lewandowski to call upon.

Dajaku then may be tempted in to plying his trade abroad – and where better than the Premier League.

Sheffield United were solid at the back for the most part last season, but it is at the top end of the pitch where the question marks lie.

With concerns over the Blades’ firepower, Dajaku may well be an astute addition if he does arrive at Bramall Lane.

Chris Wilder will have to fend off reported interest from Swansea City, however, to secure the teenager’s services.

Everton target James Rodriguez transfer, reports claim

Newspaper the Daily Star suggest the Colombian is close to a £27m switch to Goodison Park.

The report claims Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has been key in convincing the 2014 World Cup star to swap Madrid for Merseyside, having managed James before during his time in charge at the Bernabeu.

James has found game time difficult to come by in recent seasons at Real Madrid, with current gaffer Zinedine Zidane not thought to be a huge fan of the midfielder.

Zidane, now in his second stint as Los Blancos boss, sanctioned James’ two-season loan spell at Bayern Munich back in 2017.

Now it’s understood Zizou is willing to sell the 29-year-old midfielder this summer, with the Daily Star saying Everton is believed to be the top destination.

It would be a marquee signing for the Toffees as Ancelotti looks to strengthen his side ahead of the new Premier League season.

Liverpool handed Thiago transfer boost

The Reds have been heavily linked with the 29-year-old, who won the Champions League with Bayern on Sunday following a 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in Lisbon.

Reports in The Athletic claim the Bundesliga champions are willing to accept offers in the region of £27m for the player, rather than £36m as initially suggested.

Thiago is out of contract at the German club next summer and it’s understood that Bayern would rather cash in on the Spain international now than allow him to leave on a free.

This opens up a window of opportunity for Liverpool, with Jurgen Klopp’s side said to be preparing an offer in the coming weeks.

Alcantara falls outside of the Reds’ usual transfer strategy, being slightly older than a typical Anfield signing – however, clubs might not be able to afford to be picky with the uncertainties surrounding the impact of coronavirus on football finances.

Thiago has an unusual backstory – having been born in Italy, his father Marzinho played for the Brazil national side, whilst the player himself has chosen to represent Spain in the international arena.

Chelsea after PSG’s Thiago Silva

That’s according to Sky Sports, who claim the 35-year-old Brazilian is being targeted by the Blues in an attempt to shore-up their back line.

Silva, who turns 36 in September, is being tipped to sign a one-year deal at Stamford Bridge just a mater of days after his current club PSG were beaten 1-0 by Bayern Munich in Sunday’s Champions League final.

The defender, who has been capped nearly 90 times for his country, has been in Paris since 2012 and enjoyed immense success in the French capital.

However, there are question marks over Silva’s age and whether he has the ability to perform in the Premier League, especially considering Chelsea allowed the vastly experienced and younger duo of Gary Cahill and David Luiz to depart the club last summer.

Elsewhere, Chelsea’s long-anticipated swoop for Leicester City left back Ben Chilwell could hit a roadblock if the England defender is unable to get a solid diagnosis on a plaguing heel injury which has been niggling him for large parts of the season.

That’s according to British newspaper The Sun, who claim the Blues are ready to pull the plug on the £50m switch for the Foxes man if scans reveal his fitness may be in question for the start of the new Premier League season.

Thiago deal still on, but the price is going up

Most of the transfer gossip surrounding Liverpool is around Thiago, who is on his way to helping Bayern Munich to their sixth European Cup, they will demand an expensive fee for a Champions League-winning player from the Anfield side.

An article in The Guardian claims that Liverpool do not want to pay the 30 million euros asking price to sign Thiago – they could even wait to agree on a pre-contract with him in January.

The German champions are prepared to sell the 29-year-old midfielder to Liverpool but they hope to sell him as expensively as possible.

It’s thought that 30 million euros would just be the lower limit at which the Bayern bosses would let the player leave – ideally, they will demand 40 million euros (£36million).

The Bundesliga side are in no rush to sell and know the pressure is on the Premier League champions with their new season less than a month away.
