Fulham midfielder Stefan Johansen is considering his options for the future after being left out of Scott Parker’s Premier League squad.

Cottagers boss Scott Parker decided not to include the Norway international in his 25-man shortlist for the 2020/21 league season.

Johansen turns 30 in January and may well look for a Craven Cottage exit during the transfer window knowing he won’t be a part of the majority of the campaign.

The midfielder joined Fulham in 2016 from Celtic and has been a part of two promotions from the Championship in that time, although he has been restricted to only a couple of League Cup appearances so far this season.

However, Johansen claims he is receiving ‘mixed signals’ from Fulham over a potential new contract in West London when speaking to news outlet VG, as picked up by Sport Witness.

The Norwegian goes on to say that Scott Parker is likely to make a decision regarding a new deal in January, but he is unsure whether to stay put at Craven Cottage or look for one final ‘big contract’ somewhere else.

Johansen’s current Fulham deal has two years remaining, but the midfielder mentioned the needs of his family as well as the needs from a footballing perspective.

All in all, the frustration is evident at his lack of involvement and the player’s future will likely be decided in early 2021.
