Tottenham are reportedly interested in Real Betis striker Loren Moron.
The 26-year-old, who has bagged 9 goals in La Liga this season, is under contract at the Spanish club until 2022.
Moron and his entourage are aware of the interest, and as will likely be the case with the uncertainty of the current market, Betis are trying to tie their asset down to a new deal.
However, in order to persuade the Spaniard to pen fresh terms, they may have to reduce his release clause from €60m to €50m, as reported by website La Razon.
This reduced release clause could open the door for Spurs, who are said to be willing to pay €50m for the frontman – but €60m is a step too far.
You could argue that there isn’t much point in Betis renewing Moron’s contract if they are aware of strong interest from outside.
La Razon claim that AC Milan and Napoli are also interested in the striker.
Jose Mourinho has been scouting the Spanish market for talent – in January, Spurs were keen on Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose, but nothing materialised.
It is claimed that Loren Moron would be Tottenham’s second-choice option should a move for Willian Jose not come to fruition.
