Under pressure Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has picked up his first Premier League win of the campaign as the Saints edged out a 1-0 win over Leeds.

Hasenhuttl’s position at Southampton has come under growing pressure in recent week, but his players reacted with an all-important performance to pick up a vital win against Leeds after the international break.

The home side did look to force the issue early on as Illan Meslier kept out Nathan Redmond before the French stopper bravely denied Armando Broja before the break.

However, despite their frustration in the first 45, a patient Saints made it count after the break as they stepped to bury the one real chance.

Moussa Djenepo’s ball sent Redmond scampering in behind and the winger waited and waited to slip in Broja for his first ever Premier League goal.

Full Time from the St Mary’s Stadium it’s Southampton 1-0 Leeds United
