Southampton are interested in Leicester City midfielder Hamza Choudhury.

That’s according to The Telegraph, who say that Ralph Hasenhuttl is eyeing the Foxes man as a replacement for former captain Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who joined Tottenham Hotspur earlier on in the transfer window.

It’s said that 22-year-old Choudhury has impressed the Saints boss enough to consider a move for him.

Brendan Rodgers’ side finished 5th in the 2019/20 Premier League season, with Choudhury earning 10 starts in the campaign.

The defensively-minded midfielder might be surplus to requirements at the King Power Stadium, as the Foxes look to construct a squad capable of dealing with a European and domestic campaign.

Wilfred Ndidi usually gets the nod over Choudhury, so a move to St Mary’s may tempt the player and Leicester.
