Southampton have clinched their first away win of the Premier League season as they clinched a battling 1-0 win away at Watford.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton side were far from their best at Vicarage Road but it was to Che Adams’ early strike that proved more than enough to clinch the win.

The Saints looked bright right from the off in this one as the in form Adam Armstrong wasted a decent chance before Adams brilliantly measured one past Ben Foster.

But despite that Watford did almost produce an immediate response as Kyle Walker-Peters got back to clear Ismaila Sarr’s effort off the line.

Claudio Ranieri’s side did look to step it up a notch after the break with Juraj Kucka testing Alex McCarthy.

And in truth, Watford could and should have snatched a point late on, but McCarthy produced an incredible stop to keep out Ashley Fletcher.

Full Time from Vicarage Road it’s Watford 0-1 Southampton
