Struggling Burnley dug deep in Premier League action this weekend as Sean Dyche’s side secured a 2-2 draw at Southampton.

The result means the Burnley remain inside the relegation zone but a valuable point on the South Coast offers some hope of a revival.

And it was Dyche’s side that looked on the front foot early on as Maxwell Cornet popped up to nod home Matt Lowton’s cross.

However, the Saints refused to panic before the break, as Valentino Livramento made up for losing Cornet for the opener, as he arrived in the box to power them level.

And that frantic end to the first 45 was picked up by both sides after the restart.

Armando Broja pounced on James Tarkowski’s error to put Southampton ahead before Cornet’s instinctive strike dragged Burnley back level.

Both sides did carry a threat in the closing stages but neither had enough in the tank to conjure up a winner.

Full Time from the St. Mary’s Stadium it’s Southampton 2-2 Burnley
