Sheffield United are rumoured to be plotting a January loan offer for Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo.

According to reports from the Sheffield Star, Chris Wilder has earmarked Rojo as a replacement for Jack O’Connell, with the Blades skipper still sidelined through injury.

Rojo has vanished from United’s plans in the last 12 months and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is happy to sell him next month.

The main stumbling block appears to be if Wilder can put together a financial package to complete the deal.

Rojo’s deal with Man United expires at the end of the campaign, meaning this deal is set to start with a six month loan.

But Solskjaer will need to put his hand in his pocket to supplement wage payments if he wants Wilder to complete a deal.
