Brighton defender Shane Duffy is inching closer to an Amex Stadium exit.

The 28-year-old centre back is said to be close to joining Scottish champions Celtic, the club Duffy supported as a young boy.

With the strength of Brighton’s defensive unit arguably one of Graham Potter’s best assets, it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise to see Duffy move on to pastures new, particularly with the return of Matt Clarke from his player-of-the-season loan spell at Championship side Derby County.

The latest hint ahead of a possible switch to Parkhead was dropped by the Irishman’s brother on Instagram, who posted a photo of himself sat on an aeroplane with the caption ‘LET’S GO’, followed by an image of the Celtic crest.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has confirmed he is interested in the Seagulls man, and if Duffy is to leave Brighton after 4 years, he will do so in high regard from almost all Albion supporters.
