Romelu Lukaku has continued his brilliant Premier League comeback this weekend as Chelsea cruised on to a 3-0 win over Aston Villa.

Chelsea move up to second in the Premier League overnight as Thomas Tuchel’s men simply overpowered Dean Smith’s side in the capital.

The Blues bossed the game right from the word go as Ezri Konsa almost skewed home an early own goal.

But with all one-way traffic it was inevitable for Chelsea to edge in front before the break.

Mateo Kovacic’s trickery in midfield caused panic and his through ball released Lukaku to chop inside and
bury one past Jed Steer.

However, despite Chelsea’s dominance, Villa still carried a threat on the counter attack, as Edouard Mendy was called into action to claw out Ollie Watkins’ effort.

But Villa’s hard work was completely undone after the break as Tyrone Mings’ back pass was overturned by Kovacic as the Croatian calmly made it 2-0.

And with any chance of Villa revival dead and buried Lukaku made it three in added time as he absolutely rocketed home Cesar Azpilicueta’s pass.

Full Time at Stamford Bridge it’s Chelsea 3 Aston Villa 0
