Fans back on the road at last

With the new season just a few weeks away, the Claret’s preparation continued with a convincing win in a friendly at Oldham Athletic on Saturday.

The game played out in front of just under a thousand away fans who experienced a Burnley game on the road for the first time in almost 18 months.

After a scoreless first half at Boundary Park, Jay Rodriguez put Dyche’s men in front when he turned in Bobby Thomas’ knockback from a corner.

The second goal came from one of the few players to appear in both halves – Lewis Richardson avoiding being one of the 9 half-time substitutions to stay on the field and seal the victory.

It was also the first chance for fans to see new signing Nathan Collins in action, who played the second half looking impressive.
