Liverpool can win the Premier League title this weekend if they beat Wolverhampton Wanderers and Manchester City fail to win their game against Aston Villa.

The odds are not in Liverpool’s favour heading into Sunday’s game at Anfield, with title rivals Manchester City currently occupying top spot.

City welcome an Aston Villa side to the Etihad Stadium managed by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.

Gerrard never won the Premier League during his time with the Reds, but Jurgen Klopp will pick up his second topflight crown as Liverpool boss if things go their way at the weekend.

Liverpool have played every game available to them this season and are still yet to contest the Champions League final against Real Madrid next weekend.

Having already won both domestic cup competitions this season, talk of an unprecedented quadruple continues to simmer.

For opponents Wolves, Bruno Lage has done an admirable job in his first season as a Premier League manager, with Wanderers guaranteed a top 10 finish and in the running for European football for large parts of the season.

However, recent games against top sides haven’t gone to plan for Wolves – Kevin De Bruyne scored a hattrick as Man City recently demolished them 5-1.

In terms of team news, with that Champions League final in mind, Jurgen Klopp rested Salah, Mane and van Dijk for the mid-week victory at Southampton but may reintroduce them at Anfield against Wolves.

Liverpool v Wolverhampton Wanderers kicks off at 4pm on Sunday 22nd May.
