Porto left back Alex Telles is being hotly tipped to become a Manchester United player before the transfer window closes.

Solskjaer’s only acquisition to date this summer has been Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek – something which has concerned United supporters with Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City all strengthening.

Rumours of a swoop for Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho have dominated the headlines, and although that continues to rumble on, it’s Porto defender Alex Telles who is now under the transfer spotlight.

Reports from Portugal claim that the 27-year-old is close to a switch to Old Trafford, with Porto keen to cash in on the Brazilian before his contract expires next summer.

Manchester United’s current left back options are Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams, but Telles looks set to join those ranks in the coming days.

Any fee is as yet unknown, with the two clubs still trying to thrash out a price.
