Arsenal continue to move quickly in adding depth

Mikel Arteta continues to strengthen his midfield as Porto today confirmed Arsenal have agreed a deal to buy Fabio Vieira for £34 million.

As well as racking up 14 assists this season, the 22-year-old Portuguese won Player of the Tournament award at last year’s European Under-21 Championship and is understood to have been in north London on Thursday for a medical.

Vieira becomes Arsenal’s third summer arrival, following Brazilian forward Marquinhos and keeper Matt Turner, with more looking likely to follow them to The Emirates.

Leicester’s Youri Tielemans and Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus both continue to be heavily linked to joining the Gunners during this transfer window.
