Reports claim that Crystal Palace could smash their transfer record to sign Watford winger Ismaila Sarr.
With the transfer window set to close on October 16th, clubs are lining up last ditch deals in order to strengthen their squads for the season ahead.
Newspaper The Sun claim that Palace are eyeing a club-record £30m to bring Watford winger Ismaila Sarr to Selhurst Park.
Sarr has been attracting interest from the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool, so any Eagles swoop for the winger would be considered a huge coup.
However, Watford are said to be wanting closer to £40m for the Senegal international – the same price they paid Rennes for him last summer.
If £30m sounded unlikely to you, then £40m would almost certainly be out of the question for Palace, particularly with Roy Hodgson admitting he is pleased with the club’s transfer business so far this window.
Watford may be tempted in to a cut-price deal the closer the deadline gets, however, with the Hornets already having a bloated squad on Premier League wages.
