Ole Gunnar Solskjaer finds himself back on the brink at Old Trafford after his Manchester United side were slammed 4-1 by Watford.
Solskjaer’s future is set to go back on the agenda in the coming days with an emergency board meeting set to decide his fate.
Scott McTominay’s foul on Josh King handed Ismaila Sarr a golden chance from the spot but David De Gea was equal to both his first and second efforts.
But despite that, there was still no stopping the Hornets as King shifted his feet to prod home Emmanuel Dennis’ cut back before Sarr made amends by thundering home Kiko Femenia’s pass.
Solskjaer’s charges did show some life in the second 45 as substitute Donny van de Beek nodded home Cristiano Ronaldo’s knock down.
However, that positivity didn’t last beyond the hour as Ronaldo missed a crucial chance and Harry Maguire was dismissed for a lunge at Tom Cleverley.
And with a man disadvantage late on, United, and potentially Solskjaer’s, fate was sealed as Joao Pedro and Dennis wrapped up an emphatic win for Watford.
Full Time from Vicarage Road it’s Watford 4-1 Manchester United
