Sheffield United continue their push for Europa League qualification, as Chris Wilder’s side head to Newcastle United in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Blades returned to action with a draw at Aston Villa in midweek, although will have felt hard done by after a controversial technology error.

Chris Wilder will still be without Captain Jack O’Connell, who remains sidelined with a knee problem.

Scottish midfielder John Fleck, who missed Wednesday’s clash with Villa, should be passed fit in time.

For the hosts, they would have been hoping for significant changes both on and off the field during the league’s 3-month hiatus.

The proposed takeover of the club by a Saudi-backed consortium appears to be no closer to completion, with an American TV mogul bringing fresh interest to the table earlier this week.

On the pitch, things are as you were too, with Steve Bruce facing yet another injury crisis – something that has become worryingly familiar for the Newcastle boss.

It’s in defence that the Toon have selection issues, with Ciaran Clark and Paul Dummett both both missing out.

Local lads and fan favourites Sean and Matty Longstaff should be passed fit in time to play, with younger sibling Matty subject to transfer speculation in recent weeks.
