Newcastle boss Steve Bruce could be forced to sell up to nine players this summer, following the club’s failed takeover bid.

The purchase of the club by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund was rejected by Premier league chiefs, meaning Bruce’s transfer budget has been cut.

Fans favourite Matty Longstaff has already left the club via a free transfer, and Bruce is set for a St. James’ Park fire sale.

Ciaran Clark and Fabian Schar have both endured injury issues in recent months, whilst Yoshinori Muto and Henri Saviet have been anonymous since their arrivals.

Reports from the Shields Gazzette claim all four could be up for sale, alongside Jacob Murphy, Achraf Lazaar, Rolando Aarons and Dwight Gayle.

So, a big summer of possible exits on Tyneside, but Newcastle fans will be hoping to see at least a few players coming in through the front door at St. James’.
