Newcastle’s expected January spending spree could see them move for up to four new faces in 2022.

Newcastle were bought by the Saudi Arabian backed Public Investment Fund last week and excited fans are already eagerly anticipating an immediate outlay.

The new owners have hinted they will back any new signings with options on the table at both ends of the pitch as manager Steve Bruce looks to make his move in the market.

Burnley centre back James Tarkowski is set to be their primary target in the coming weeks with reports from Italy also linking them to Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly.

And in the excitement of it all, it’s not just defence where Bruce could bring in reinforcements, with Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard and PSG star Mauro Icardi also on his list of options.
