Newcastle and Leeds’ wait for a Premier League win this season goes on as Steve Bruce was forced to settle for a point at St. James’ last night.

The absolute frustration was etched on Bruce face at the end of a rollercoaster night on Tyneside with the Magpies finding themselves stuck inside the relegation zone following Newcastle’s draw with Leeds.

And with so much on the line on the night for both sides, this one started on the front foot, as Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds edged themselves in front on 13 minutes.

Wing wizard Rafinha was given too much space to whip one in from the right hand side and Brazilian’s cross shot bounced on through and caught out Karl Darlow.

But despite that setback it was Newcastle who dominated before the break, with Illan Meslier on hand to keep out Joelinton before Scotland international Matt Ritchie cracked one off the post.

And with the wind Newcastle’s sails, talisman Allan Saint-Maximin superbly hauled them level in added time.

The game struggled to maintain that tempo after the break but it was Bruce’s Newcastle who carved out a massive chance to win it late on but Meslier produced a vital stop from Saint-Maximin.

Full Time from St. James’ Park it’s Newcastle 1 Leeds United 1
