Manchester City could be handed a surprise boost in the coming days with the return to action of defender Nathan Ake.

Ake was injured in the Netherlands 1-1 draw with Spain and had looked set for a sustained spell on the sidelines.

However, as per the report from the Manchester Evening News, he could return for Pep Guardiola’s side at the start of December.

The former Bournemouth man will miss City’s next four games on a busy return to action but he could start against Fulham on December 5.

Meanwhile, Brazilian international Fernandinho also looks in line to offer Guardiola a vital bit of impetus after he returned to full training this weekend.
