Liverpool stand on the brink of the Champions League last 16 this morning as Jurgen Klopp’s side edged out a controversial 3-2 win at Atletico Madrid.

Liverpool maintained their 100% record so far in Europe as a Mo Salah brace powered them on to victory.

The Egyptian King fired the visitors in front inside ten minutes before midfield star Naby Keita doubled their dominant advantage.

But, Liverpool have fallen asleep at the wheel in Europe in recent weeks, and French international Antoine Griezmann pounced to haul Atletico level before the break.

However, despite looking primed to overpower Liverpool after the break, Griezmann’s dismissal left the door wide open for Klopp.

Substitute Diogo Jota’s tumble inside the box allowed Salah the perfect chance to put Liverpool back in front.

And despite Jota conceding a penalty at the other end in the final minutes, the luck on the night was with firmly with Liverpool, as VAR ruled in favour of the Portuguese winger.

Full Time from the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano it’s Atletico Madrid 2-3 Liverpool
