Liverpool have fired a reminder to their Premier League title rivals with confident 3-1 win at West Ham.

The three points sees Jurgen Klopp’s side close the gap on Manchester United a crucial time as the Hammers slip to fifth.

Neither side created anything in the opening stages with both set of fans forced to wait until added time for chance either end.

Michail Antonio’s weak effort was easily gathered up Alisson before Lukasz Fabianski got down to deny Mo Salah.

Klopp’s side did begin to turn the heat after the restart with Salah finally edging them ahead on the hour.

Substitute Curtis Jones fed the Egyptian on the edge of the box and he bent a wonder strike past Fabianski.

That breakthrough knocked West Ham confidence immediately and Salah ruthlessly punished them.
Xherdan Shaqiri sweeping pass released him in behind Craig Dawson and the calmly lifted past Fabianksi.

And with Liverpool’s swagger firmly back in the final minutes, Gini Wijnaldum popped up in the box to power home Roberto Firmino’s pass.

The Hammers did grab themselves a consolation late on Dawson headed home from a corner, but in reality the night belonged to Liverpool.
