Liverpool have picked up back-to-back 1-0 Premier League wins this weekend as Jurgen Klopp’s side snatched a narrow win over Aston Villa.

Steven Gerrard’s iconic return to Anfield was the big pre game story but it was current Reds talisman Mo Salah that won the day for Klopp.

The Reds looked to stamp themselves on this one before the break as Emi Martinez clawed out Andy Robertson’s header and bravely blocked from Salah.

And with Liverpool looking to bang down the door in the second 45, Salah’s key intervention tipped it.

The Egyptian King was clipped by Tyrone Mings inside the box and he stepped up to lash home his 14th Premier League goal of the campaign.

Villa did almost grab an equaliser after Alisson tangled with Danny Ings but Stuart Attwell waved away their penalty shouts.

Full Time from Anfield it’s Liverpool 1 Aston Villa 0
