Manchester United are closing in on the transfer of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

England star Sancho has been a United target for some time now, and according to the latest intel from reputable journalist Fabrizio Romano, the club are at an ‘advanced stage’ of talks.

Romano also suggests that Sancho – who has scored 30 goals in 78 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund since 2017 – would be offered a 5-year deal at Old Trafford.

Although both clubs are said to be in discussions over the player, the biggest factor will be deciding on a fee for the 20-year-old, who has already shown in his short career so far that he has the capabilities to be genuinely world class.

The Guardian’s deputy news editor Ed Aarons claims Manchester United are prepared to spend £90m to secure Sancho’s services, which would be a new record fee for an English player.

Dortmund are pushing United to reach an agreement soon if they want the player, as the German side are keen to press on with finding a replacement.

Reports claim that Dortmund have set Manchester United a deadline of 10th August to sew up the Sancho deal, which is likely to be paid in instalments.
