Manchester United are set to open contract talks with captain Harry Maguire this month as they aim to tie up his future at the club.

England star Maguire has remained a key figure in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans after the Norwegian named him as club captain back at the start of 2020.

Maguire’s contract expires in 2025, with the option for an extra year, but United want to increase his wage package at the club.

According to reports from the Sunday Mirror, United will offer Maguire in the region of £200,000 per week, as they look to bring him in line with new signings Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane.

And alongside the Maguire contract, United will also make a final attempt to secure Paul Pogba at Old Trafford but the Frenchman remains uncertain on his plans for 2022.
