Manchester United could offload midfield pair Fred and Jesse Lingard to make room for the incoming Donny van de Beek.

United are reported to be on the verge of clinching a £40m deal for the Dutch international as part of exciting midfield alongside Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes.

However, if van de Beek does arrive at Old Trafford that will likely push both Lingard and Fred closer to the exit door.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer put his faith in Fred last season, but if the club received an offer in excess of £30m for the former Shakhtar star, Solskjaer could be tempted to sell.

As for Lingard, he was anonymous for United last season, and with the former Academy star entering his final year at the club, with West Ham reportedly tracking the England international.
