Michael Carrick has continued his unbeaten start as interim Manchester United boss as he picked up an impressive 1-1 draw away at Chelsea.

United set their stall out to counter the league leaders right from the start at Stamford Bridge and Carrick’s charges dug in superbly to claim a vital point.

The Blues looked to flex their in form muscles in the opening stages with Callum Hudson-Odoi denied by a sprawling David De Gea before Antonio Rudiger rattled one off the crossbar.

But with United feeding off scraps before the break they pounced on their first real chance after the restart.

Bruno Fernandes’ boomed clearance was absolutely hashed by Jorginho and Jadon Sancho raced on to slot United in front.

However despite that boost for United, Chelsea were handed their own slice of luck in the final 20 as Aaron Wan-Bissaka caught Thiago Silva, and Jorginho kept his nerve from the spot.

Both sides did carve out chance to win it late on as Fred fluffed his lines in front of Edouard Mendy and Rudiger volleyed one into the Thames.

Full Time from Stamford Bridge it’s Chelsea 1-1 Manchester United
