Manchester United have launched a bid to bring Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly to Old Trafford.
The Senegal international has been one of Europe’s top defenders for some time now, and has attracted interest from a host of Premier League sides, including Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal.
But Manchester United are said to be in pole position for the Napoli man’s signature, with Sky Italia reporting the club have made a £71m offer for the centre back.
With the impact of coronavirus expected to hit football financially, United may be looking to take advantage of a possible cut-price deal for the 28-year-old.
Napoli have set their asking price high for Koulibaly in the past, having reportedly rejected a £100m offer for him last summer.
However, the Serie A outfit are said to be holding out for a bid closer to £90m this time around.
