Manchester City will remind Phil Foden of his responsibilities after he was pictured playing football on a beach.

The midfielder was also spotted having his photograph taken with several people on Sunday.

The 20-year-old, who is tipped as the heir to David Silva, was having a kick about with a group of lads in the weekend sunshine on Formby beach.

He later posed for a group photo, in which it appeared he was not keeping a 2 metre distance.

Premier League players, who have returned to full contact training, have been told to stick strictly to social distancing guidelines.

Foden is not the first Manchester City player to have broken coronavirus guidelines – City issued defender Kyle Walker with disciplinary action after he hosted a sex party in April.
