Manchester City were in seventh heaven last as Pep Guardiola’s side smashed seven past Leeds on home soil.

City were in full flow from the off in Manchester as Leeds simply wilted in the Etihad heat with three goals inside the first half an hour.

Rodri’s driving run forced an error from Illan Meslier to allow Phil Foden to fire home before Jack Grealish got across his man to power home a second.

And with Leeds falling apart before the break, City carve through again as Kevin De Bruyne marked his return with a superb finish.

That ended the tie as a contest in the second 45 but there was to be no slowing down from City.

Riyad Mahrez’s deflected strike carried on the party before De Bruyne cannoned home a fifth.

And with City rampant there was even time for the defenders to get in on the act as John Stones and Nathan Ake made it a magnificent seven.

Full Time from the Etihad Stadium it’s Manchester City 7 Leeds United 0
