Manchester City have wrapped up their Champions League group stage campaign with a 2-1 defeat away at RB Leipzig.

Pep Guardiola’s side had already clinched their last 16 spot prior to kick off but they will be disappointed to end on a low note as his Manchester City side lost to RB Leipzig.

City looked nervy from the start in Germany with Ederson forced to awkwardly scoop away Konrad Lainer’s effort before Dominik Szoboszlai brilliantly edged them in front.

Lainer’s straight ball cut through the City back line and Szoboszlai raced on to tuck past Ederson.

City did look to step it up and pose a greater threat either side of the break, with Peter Gulasci superbly keeping out Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne.

But the visitors were to facilitate their own downfall in the last 15 as more sloppy play allowed Andre Silva to blast home.

Riyad Mahrez did manage to head home a late consolation for City but Kyle Walker’s stupid late red card ended any chance of a comeback.

Full Time from the Red Bull Arena it’s RB Leipzig 2 Manchester City 1
