Manchester City’s trip to rivals Liverpool has more than lived up to expectation as Pep Guardiola’s side battled back to seal a 2-2 draw at Anfield.

Both Liverpool and Manchester City showed their attacking class in the final stages but for the netral there was just not enough time to sneak out a winner.

City looked to force the agenda in the opening stages of this one with Alisson out quickly to smother Phil Foden before Belgian star Kevin De Bruyne scuffed a great chance just wide.

However, the game stormed into life on the hour as an improving Liverpool boldly took their chance.

Mo Salah’s driving run cut through the City backline and strike partner Sadio Mane raced on to bury one past Ederson.

But City were in no mood to lie down from as the visitors stormed up the other end to equalise.

Gabriel Jesus’ selfless flick made an angle for Foden and the England star opened himself up to flash home an equaliser

However, there was to be a sting in the tail at both ends in the final 15 as City did eventually haul level once again.

Salah’s trickery inside the box took him clear of Aymeric Laporte, as the Egyptian King blasted the Reds back in front, but City have the final say as De Bruyne’s strike flew in off Joel Matip.

Full Time from Anfield it’s Liverpool 2-2 Manchester City
